ROCKY O'REILLY
Rocky O’Reilly is a passionate producer, mixer, songwriter, and musician from Belfast, Northern Ireland, known for bringing energy, punch, and depth to his productions to connect listeners with the emotional power behind the music. His work spans a diverse range of genres, from indie-pop and hip hop to punk-rock and doom metal. Over his career, he has collaborated with artists including The Florentinas, TRAMP, Maria Kelly, HAVVK, Nathan Connolly from Snow Patrol, Wheatus, and many others. As a musician, he has also written and played with acts such as Tim Wheeler from Ash and MC Lars.
Starting as a live engineer at just 16, Rocky mixed live shows in Ireland and toured Europe with hip hop groups like Ugly Duckling, which sparked his early experimentation with recording. He formed the band Oppenheimer, releasing three albums and touring extensively in the United States, with some of their music featured in TV shows like Gossip Girl and How I Met Your Mother.
In 2007, he founded Start Together Studio in Belfast, a multi-studio creative hub filled with a vast collection of instruments and equipment, designed as a dedicated space for artists to make their dream records. Rocky continues to work both in this studio and on location across the UK and Europe, producing, mixing, and writing with artists.
Known for obsessing over recording techniques, analog synths, fuzz pedals, and atmospheric effects like space echoes, he combines technical expertise with enthusiasm and passion for music. His influence is notable in Northern Ireland’s independent music scene, helping shape the sound of landmark records and supporting artists to discover their own identities. Rocky’s work has earned recognition including the Northern Irish Music Prize and placements in multiple international campaigns and TV shows
