How It Works is the first single from Old Sea Brigade’s sophomore album, out on Nettwerk next spring. Henry Brill co-wrote the song with OSB and Owen Lewis produced and mixed it (as well as the rest of the album). I’m lucky enough to have heard it and it is MEGA. And this single has a video with a cowboy in it, which is always something I can get behind.

I’ll be honest, I know very little about Irish enigma, Vale. What I will say is that his debut effort, produced and mixed Transatlantically by Owen Lewis is a pretty epic piece of synth work. It’s cinematic and pop at the same time, channelling all the best bits of artists like John Grant and the Naked & Famous. Really excited for what’s coming next from this guy.

Darren Lawson Vs Khartoum

Named after the decapitated racehorse from the Godfather (explicitly not the capital city of Sudan), Khartoum are a very exciting new rock ’n’ roll band. They’ve already played Glastonbury, Electric Picnic Festival and the god damn Louvre in Paris. They’ve even had still-prancing medical marvel Mick Jagger down the front of some of their shows. I don’t really like the Rolling Stones very much, but he must surely know something to have sold that many records.
